Ben studied at the Reigate School of Art & Design and the Kent Institute of Art & Design. He moved to Faversham in 1993 from Surrey and before long he was spending most of his spare time exploring the Kent countryside. A keen mountain biker and sailor, Ben soon knew Kent like the back of his hand, and photographing the varied landscapes and seascapes he encountered, was a natural progression.
Graphic Design has always been a strong part of Ben's portfolio and he is often approached by local businesses for help with corporate identities, marketing projects and corporate videos.
Ben has always enjoyed painting and has recently started to paint local scenes, using colourful acrylics on canvas. He finds the simplicity and organic medium of painting a relaxing complement to his other disciplines, which are dependant on computers and hi tech equipment.
His love of the outdoors and adventure has also taken him further a field, in 2001-2002 he cycled 3000 miles up the east coast of Australia. He has also cycled around Scotland and in 2003 he joined an expedition that sailed to the Shetland Isles where they spent the summer making a television documentary. In 2008 Ben sailed across the Mediterranean, sailing over 1500 miles from Barcelona to Turkey stopping on route at Sardinia, Tunisia, Malta and Greece. In 2009 he sailed from Ramsgate to Ireland via the Scilly Isles and Cornwall. And also managed to finish off the summer cycling over 500 miles accross northern France from Dunkirk to Cherbourg. |
